Photoshop attempt 1 - landscape
What I learned in this project
During this landscape photoshop I learned a lot of new skills. I learned the quick select tool to select high contrast images. After you select what you need to, you go to the top of the window and click on refine edge. This gives you the option to take some off of what you selected, add some, or make it higher contrast. Next, you copy the image with “control c” and then you paste the image on top with “control v.” You can do this with at least three images. Then I put on the banners that say “foreground, middleground, background.”

Teacher Creature Project
For this project, we had to use parts of an animal or parts of a teacher and paste them onto another creature. For example, I did Matt Dooley. I took parts of his face like his mouth and eyes and pasted them onto a seal. I also made a background by cutting out a sunset from one picture and pasting it onto another picture of a desert.
The hardest part of the project for me was having everything come together in the end. At the beginning of the project, I did not do very much planning on how everything was going to fit together. I did end up having a seal in a desert. Unrealistic right? If I was to do this project again I would want to make the animal make sense with its habitat.
I think my favorite part of this project had to be cutting and pasting images on top of each other. To make them look good I had to zoom WAY in to the pixels and erase or select the image. This was not overly challenging but it was very time consuming. That way I could spend more time making one thing perfect versus making a lot of things not as perfect.
This project has taught me a lot about being a learner at Animas High School. One day during the project one of my friends hit the power supply to all of the computers. I sadly had not saved yet at that point. This was very very bad because that was one of the days that I got most of my work done. I was not to happy, but after talking to Roxy (our digital arts teacher) she gave me an extra day to work on it. That was all because I advocated for myself in order to get that extra day.
